On One Hand

I am in a creative lull.

I have the most awesome bedroom ever, now, or at least I will as soon as I get a DVD player and have the plants re-potted, and maybe get Internet at home. I wish I was seeing someone now, when I finally don’t mind staying at my place and would actually prefer it. My roommate just got a dog and it makes the house even more cozy and welcome.

If you’re an artist, you should email me. We could do some creative stuff. I am talking especially to musicians and photographers. Painting? Meh– I don’t know how I could get involved in that, unless you mean painting on someone’s body and taking pictures of it. Writers are good too if you know how to get published.

Or if you live in Boulder and just want to chill and introduce me to tons of people. (Maybe including guys). I am down to party. At least that gives me something to write about.

This will be the most boring summer ever if no one responds.

That’s right.

    • naked people.

I don’t care. Anything that involves two or more people, that is truly artistic (not portraits or modeling type shit) and is good enough for me to eventually post on an artsy website or something.

  2. First off I’ll say “Hi, Matt. My name is Will.” I’ve been reading your LJ for some time now, really digging on some of the more “creative” pieces you’ve written. So I guess I’ll also apologise for stalking. I’ve meant to leave comments before but never felt like I’ve had anything to say (common problem). Regardless of all that, I, too, am bored and would love to spark up some new arts during these warm months. I had a thought when I initially read this post. It involves me with some photos, then you with some words, then me doing some fine handwriting, then I don’t know, maybe we’ll make some pages, what do you think? Details, discussion, let me know if you want to collab on some shit. I haven’t got much to share with you, I’m not a photographer, I studied graphic design, I’m lazy, my portfolio is very out of date, here’s some old shit: http://www.li2design.com/museum/ Poke around, write me back. Sorry about the run-ons.

    • I don’t know how to navigate that website. Is it all your own original stuff, or is it part of a group project? If you know web stuff that would be awesome.

I’d def. like to work on something. Are you in Boulder or is this a long-distance thing?

      • you can’t navigate it because you don’t have a click-finger or what? it’s not one site, really. it’s a bunch of versions of a site that i had at one point or another. no matter. it’s all old. but it is all mine, save for the comic which was between me and another kid.

this is long-distance unless you want to take a vacation. i live in new york, but not in the city. there’s something about the post, though, don’t you think? aim = djgetmonies for accelerated dialogue.

      • Well I don’t have Internet at home and only get to use AIM when i have access to a computer lab. That’s a temporary problem and I’ll let you know when I have it solved.

That’s cool that you do web design, and the site looks really good. I’d like to be a part of some kind of online literary magazine (with writing, photography, drawings, etc…), though I’m not sure what the project would look like. We would accept submissions, but also find livejournal entries and stuff around the internet that is really good but hasn’t been submitted. THen we have more editorial control.

It would need some kind of a theme, which can be broad but should be there. Themes really help you get more meaningful information. The theme could be “life/death” or “matter/spirit” or some shit like that, some juxtaposition of opposites. We could get video posts of people searching for faith, struggling with identity, traveling, dying of AIDS or loving someone who is, et cetera. I would love to be a part of a project that contains some really awesome shit like that.

OR we could just start an LJ community with really cool graphics and start from there, ask good writers to post to it, and when a few people are involved, we figure out what we want to do with it.
