The Obama Tax Cut (continued)

Filed under: Uncategorized — ononehand @ 7:09 pm

Based on my 2008 income I would get an annual $896.21 tax cut from Barack Obama and an $18.52 tax cut from John McCain.

If I had worked as many hours all year as I work now, it would have been a $480.98 tax cut under Barack Obama, and a $24.87 tax cut under John McCain.

  1. Glad you’re on board the tax-cutting bandwagon.

That calculator doesn’t ask enough questions to be able to seriously calculate your tax cut, certainly not to the penny. Methinks it’s just taking the total tax burden by income and dividing it out equally among each person. The problem with that is that many of Obama’s tax cuts are targeted, and most people in each bracket will not qualify.

The proposal also does not incorporate additional McCain proposals from the last month, but that’s minor.

    • I don’t support all tax cuts, I don’t think I’m on any bandwagon. I do think that this one will be more effective at doing what it’s supposed to do (stimulating the economy, lessening the burden on those who are burdened most) than the Bush Tax Cut was and John McCain’s tax cut would be.
